Planning a Road Trip in the Northern Territory or Know Someone Who Is? – This Is A Must

APE_6870 (Small)It seems that travelling around Australia with the family is one of those bucket list things to do before the kids get too old, and the Northern Territory is definitely an adventure not to be missed.

Over the past 3 years 4 different sets of our friends have taken to the road with their kidlets in the hope of creating some great memories and experiences that will last a lifetime.

One of the places that is a must visit when driving around Australia is the Red Centre including Alice Springs, Uluru and the stunning West MacDonnell Ranges National Park.  I personally have not had a chance to see these amazing sights but this is something hubby and I want to do with the kids before they finish school.

Everyone I know who has ever made the voyage has said it was amazing.

If you are thinking of making the trip or know somebody who is you should definitely check out DIY Tourguide’s Audio Travel Guides. They help to bring the journey alive and it is like having your own tour guide in the car!

DIY Tourguide gives you the freedom to stop where you want, when you want. Whether travelling in your own car or a rental car, a 4×4, or with a caravan, you can learn about the characters that shaped Central Australian history, the wildlife that call this unique environment home, ancient Aboriginal culture, and the spectacular geological landmarks that have been carved into the landscape.  This is awesome for the kids as it keeps them entertained and educated during the long distances, and engaged in the local landscape.

DIY Tourguide offers two great options to get you on the road. All audio tours are currently available on CD or as an MP3 download (see website for information about how they work). The West MacDonnell Ranges audio tour is also now available as a GPS triggered app for the iPhone or the iPad.

Being a mum to 3 kids (one of them full time at home with me) and trying to juggle everything became pretty crazy.
