Alvin and The Chipmunks: The Road Chip Review PLUS Score 1 of 10 Family Passes

We recently had the chance to get along to the see the lastest movie Alvin and The Chipmunks: The Road Chip.  My girls have always loved the Chipmunk movies so they were super excited.

The latest installment was as cute as ever and it did not disappoint.  If your kids love music and a bit of singing and dancing then this movie is for them.

The main storyline of the film is about a series of misunderstandings. Alvin, Simon and Theodore come to believe that Dave (their human dad) is going to propose to his new girlfriend in Miami…and dump them. They have three days to get to him and stop the proposal, saving themselves not only from losing Dave but possibly from gaining a terrible stepbrother.

I took Miss 8, Miss 5 and our 14 year old next door neighbour to see the film and all 3 of them thought it was great. There were some really funny moments in the movie where the whole audience was in stitches and I thought the themes and content of the film worked for kids and adults.  As a grown up I enjoyed watching it also and never felt like I wished it was over.

It doesn’t open in cinemas until Boxing Day and I would definitely put it on my holiday activity list with the kids. If your children are use to watching movies this would be ok for 3-4 years and up.  The singing and dancing in the movie gives it some good breaks for kids from straight talking so it is easier for them to stay focused.  I also think older kids up to 12 would happily enjoy this film and not see it as something just for small kids.  They have done a good job of capturing the interest of a broad age group I think.

Being a mum to 3 kids (one of them full time at home with me) and trying to juggle everything became pretty crazy.
